Kitá Wines respects the balance of man and its surroundings.  We believe that wine is a balance between soil, climate, location and taste.  Kitá wines feels that winemaking is the heart that carries the voice of the vineyard through to the bottle.  All of our wines have been harvested by hand based on a balance of chemistry and taste to reserve the highest quality.  The fruit is hand sorted in the vineyard and again in the winery to ensure only the best grapes are carried into the wines.  Made from exclusive blocks of both our estate and select vineyards, our wines symbolize the essence of terroir driven winemaking.

White Wines

2018 Sauvignon Blanc

This pale lemon colored wine is expressly aromatic yet balanced with layers of structure and complexity. Initial aromatics show hints of passion fruit and guava, jalapeno, gooseberry, honeydew melon, and lemongrass. The acidity cuts through a collection of grapefruit and bell pepper that leaves your palate coated with an uplifting minerality. The creamy texture is derived from months of lees aging, providing this elegant wine with a touch of power and length both in the nose and palate. The layers of lychee and floral perfume are blanketed by a complex long finish.

2018 T’aya

“Abalone Shell” in the native Chumash language of Samala.

This southern Rhone style blend of Marsanne, Roussanne, and Grenache Blanc highlights bright aromatics of zesty citrus, Asian pear, and honeysuckle with hints of chamomile and white peach. The mid-palate is a perfect balance of acidity, oily minerality, and rich creamy flavors. On the palate this wine shows a dynamic contrast of salinity mixed with bright acidity that showcases the layers of vanilla bean, white orchid, beeswax, and stone fruits. The freshness and intricacies from lees aging provides a depth through the entire finish.

2018 Grenache Rosé

This rosé is comprised of 100% Grenache Noir grapes that are grown and picked specifically for rosé and the pale pink color and bright aromatic highlight this. The aromatics of strawberries, hibiscus, blood orange and cranberry entice you with their charms at first encounter. Relatively high acidity leads to an intense palate of ruby red grapefruit, red apple, white pepper and spice. The brightness combined with lees aging gives this wine a complexity and vibrancy that carries all the way through the finish. The purity of the Grenache grape makes this wine a match for almost any dish.

2017 Chardonnay

This pale straw color wine has an immediately appealing nose and is flatteringly easy to enjoy. Its aromatics of citrus, Asian pear, and apple hit you with their exuberant charms from first encounter and is lifted by hints of slate and citrus blossom. The natural balance and complexity of this wine can be attributed to the sandy soils and beauty from Dijon clones 76 and 96. The palate is mineral and citrus propelled in flavor while the acidity tingles your taste buds. With the vineyard proximity to the ocean and the time on less, this wine is highlighted by the crisp, yet creamy texture that heightens your senses.

Red Table Wine

This non-vintage Red Table Wine is comprised of intense aromatics of black cherry, violet and black currant. The palate shows notes of black currant and smooth, dark berry flavors balanced by bright acidity and refined tannins. The mid-palate highlights rustic herbaciousness, splashes of spice and savory bacon with a bright and complex finish that lingers on your tongue with glimmers of red plum and minerality.

2016 Syrah

This deep ruby colored wine is brooding with aromatics of blackberry, blueberry, clove, white pepper, cedar and vanilla. This medium full-bodied wine is perfectly balanced between its impressively lively acidity and elegant structure. The red fruits, Chinese five spices, and violets that live in this wines core introduce you to a softer texture and rounded tannins. It is perfectly balanced with supple beauty while still being robust. This long, gently supple finish with silky tannins resonates on your palate and entices another sip.

2015 Pinot Noir

2014 Kalas

The 2014 Kalas is a perfect blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. A deep colored wine with immediately expressive aromatics that flirt with your senses. Complex flavors of dark fresh berries, black currant, espresso and eucalyptus highlight the diversity and minerality in the soil.

The style of this wine can be most associated with right bank Bordeaux and it emanates balance. The palate shows a blend of bright crisp acidity, medium body and a culmination of spices, earthy tones and blackberries. Due to its complexity this wine needs time to breathe and mature. The dry chalky tannins have begun to round out but in time will be precise and elegant.

This blend of Grenache, Syrah and Carignane shares several characteristics with the 2013 Spe’y. It is a deep colored wine that has an aromatic profile bursting with blueberries, violets, truffle oil, cinnamon, and traces of coffee and perfume. The palate is medium bodied; yet balanced with a spicy complexity and hints of candied blueberries and rose petals. The beautifully rich mid palate is poised with a bright acidity and elongated with multidimensional round tannins to linger on your tongue.
