2014 Grenache Rosé
Grenache grapes are all that are used to create this pale pink salmon colored wine. This wine is just as perfect out on the patio as it is in the dining room. Seductive aromas of strawberry, pomegranate, and citrus play on the palate. A distinctive minerality balances the tangy berry flavors and crisp acidity. This wine’s creamy texture and depth pave the way for a long finish that compliments almost any atmosphere.

The vintage of 2014 brought a third year in a row of excellent wines. We saw a shorter growing season, with one of the earliest harvests on record. This was due to a mild winter, early budbreak, and a mild summer that led to picking three weeks earlier than last year, some of the late ripeners came in sooner than expected which led to a compressed harvest towards the end of picking. Overall, we saw a little more rainfall than in 2013, but it still proved to be a record-breaking drought year. We also saw an above normal crop size with higher juice yields.
Camp 4 Vineyard is situated on the eastern most edge of the Santa Ynez Valley and serves as the gateway into Happy Canyon. The vineyard is home to 19 varietals focusing on Rhone and Bordeaux, providing an ideal microclimate with a long growing season and maximum flavor development. The sandy-loam soil aids in producing high quality wine grapes. We pride our vineyard on the perfect balance of quality and quantity and the focus on sustainable farming.
A perfect match with cheese and charcuterie. The bright acidity balances out the creaminess and intensity of strong cheeses and is also a wonderful complement to a roasted beet salad with goat cheese and nuts or even a rosemary and blue cheese flatbread. This wine is not only a joy for appetizers, but can also crossover into a main course of creamy risotto or roasted chicken and vegetables.
