Grenache grapes are all that are used to create this pale pink salmon colored wine. The tantalizing aromas of strawberry, melon, rose petal, and white peach are complimented with a mouth quenching acidity. With its fresh, bright, dry style, the flavors of cantaloupe and ruby red grapefruit play on the palate. A distinctive pearly finish balances the tangy berry flavors and herbaceousness, which harmonizes notes of tart, juicy plums. This wine’s creamy texture and depth also make it a match for almost any dish.

The 2019 vintage brought on slightly cooler weather and more of an abundance of rain in comparison to the 2018 vintage. We saw a later kickoff to budbreak, bloom, and flowering due to the lower temperatures with another mild frost season. The mildew pressures were at an all-time high than we’ve seen in many years due to the rain and lower temperatures. The summer and fall months were similar to 2018, with heat spikes in early September. Harvest started a little later than in 2018, and seemed to last longer overall. The results were slightly below average yields with a good quality vintage that shows a great expression of the vintage.
Camp 4 Vineyard is situated on the eastern most edge of the Santa Ynez Valley and serves as the gateway to Happy Canyon. The vineyard is hot to 18 varietals focusing on Rhone and Bordeaux, providing an ideal micro-climate with a long growing season and maximum flavor development. The unique thing about this rosé of Grenache is that it can be paired with almost anything, and is also wonderful on its own. This rosé is great with everything from a pizza topped with seasonal vegetables to chicken with a tangy barbecue sauce.
